December 19, 2005 Bolton Lake Lodge & Outposts Update

December 19, 2005: Happy Holidays to all! We have a couple of very exciting announcements to make today, first Jodi is expecting our first born in early June!!! We're glad we waited as long as we did, but now we're very excited to start this new challenge and enjoy parenthood. Unfortunately, Jodi won't be able to be at the lodge this summer, but she'll still try to help me out if and when she gets some [...]

October 20, 2005 Bolton Lake Lodge & Outposts Update

October 20th, 2005: Jodi and I are in the process of setting up an agreement to buy out my parents' interest in Bolton Lake Lodge and Outposts! We don't expect there to be much of a difference since we've been running it mostly on our own for the past 5 years, but it's still a big step for us. We're looking forward to a very busy season again next year and as always, we hope that [...]

September 26, 2005 Bolton Lake Lodge & Outposts Update

September 26th, 2005: That's the longest I've gone without doing an update. I have been at Elk Island Lodge for the past few weeks helping out with the September fishing and I did not have the right programs for updating the websites from there. We're all finally back in Winnipeg after a great year of fishing. The weather could have cooperated a bit more when we were trying to move guests, but at least during the [...]

August 1, 2005 Bolton Lake Lodge & Outposts Update

August 1st, 2005: We've been experiencing some pretty good weather and some great fishing lately. Two of our biggest fish of the season have been caught lately including a 47 inch Pike and a 39 inch Lake Trout! The guests and guides didn't have a digital camera when they got the big Lake Trout but there's a picture of the 47 inch Pike below. The wildlife has also been great for spotting this year as we've [...]

July23, 2005 Bolton Lake Lodge & Outposts Update

July 23rd, 2005: Once again I have to apologize for not taking the time to update the site...I usually have a lot more spare time in July as the routine has been worked out and the weather is nicer. The weather has been pretty good this season, with the usual exception of Sunday's when we're trying to move lots of guests. Last Sunday we woke up to pretty decent flying weather only to find out that [...]

July 5, 2005 Bolton Lake Lodge & Outposts Update

July 5th, 2005: Another beautiful day up at the lodge today, the temperature should get to at least 75 degrees today! The fishing lately has been quite good, it's a real nice thing to be on a true multi species lake where trophies can be caught in any species including Pike, Walleye and Lake Trout. Last week it seemed like we were more of a Walleye lake because the Pike were no longer in the shallows [...]

May 5, 2005 Bolton Lake Lodge & Outposts Update

May 5th, 2005: I took the 185 on floats to Joint Lake yesterday and saw no ice on any lakes until about 50 miles south of Bolton Lake! Kitchi Lake has no ice, Bolton has more open water than we did May 25th last year, Joint Lake is open in the river and along the shore of the main lake, and Aswap is mostly open except in the larger sections. Everything will be on time as [...]

April 27, 2005 Bolton Lake Lodge & Outposts Update

April 27th, 2005: I'm so busy right now that the summer is going to be a relief...yeah right! We're in the middle of selling 50 plus outboard motors locally, on Ebay and through word of mouth. Iboats.com is also a good place for people to find good motors so we have a bunch listed with them as well. It's been a cold week here in Winnipeg and not much better up North. The guys working at [...]

April 20, 2005 Bolton Lake Lodge & Outposts Update

April 20th, 2005: It's been nice and warm here in Winnipeg for the past 3 weeks and the ice has started to melt a lot. The rivers are open and soon I'll be able to land a float plane at Joint Lake where the crew is working on remodelling the cabin. They've enjoyed some beautiful weather and have caught a few Pike in the open water in front of the cabin. Work is going well and [...]
