January 12th, 2005: The shows are well under way with three down and 12 more to go. It's going to be a whirlwind for the next few weeks moving from show to show for relatively short stays in cities like St. Charles, IL followed by Grand Rapids, MI then Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, St. Louis and finally Omaha. We have a film crew in for a few days and yesterday they landed 3 trophies, filmed the lodge from the air and did some great underwater filming. July 12th, 2004: Jim Florczak and his guide, Marcel landed a huge 48 inch Pike last night!! The guys at Aswap also had a good week by landing 2 huge Pike at 45 and 46 inches. July 6th, 2004: Finally some nice weather!! Although some of the guides and guests claimed to have seen some snowflakes on July 3rd, it's been very nice weather since Sunday and today is no exception. The Lake Trout are even starting to go a bit deeper as the surface temperature has risen to 65 degrees is most places and up to 70 degrees in the dark shallow bays. May 30, 2004: We have a full camp and all three outposts are open, but the ice is still not all gone. We've broken the record for latest ice out in our 16 year history on Bolton Lake. May 23rd, 2004: The weather and the fishing has been exceptional lately, but the lake is still frozen. We've been hauling groups by snowmobile across the lake to open water at hole #1. From there we have at least 4 miles of open water all the way into Mink Creek where the fishing has been great. In a day and a half of fishing the Schenkel group has caught 5 trophies, mostly Pike.
