May 21, 2008: The ice is almost gone at Bolton Lake. We have had mostly clear skies and some very nice weather lately so we’re seeing big changes to the ice every day. We now have enough open water in front of the lodge to land the float plane and I’m predicting that by tomorrow afternoon we’ll only have a sheet of ice left on the main body.

The new bathroom at Aswap should be completed by tomorrow and there’s almost no ice left on the lake there.

The new carpets are in the cabins at the lodge, the boats are being launched today and tomorrow, the new moose and bear mounts are hung in the lodge, the water is running and the weather is looking fantastic for the next few days!!!

Here’s a shot of the open water and what’s left of the ice in front of the lodge today.
